Totally just a mix of my favorite songs of 2010. I make an end of the year playlist every year (and i have since like 2005 or so)... This one was really hard. Usually I try to make a playlist/mix that also fits on a cd but this time i went to 30 and decided not to upload it.

It's actually a pretty cool mix. Lot's of dance and pop but with equal amounts of hip hop/rap and electro-type music.

Kim still got it. I will always be against Nicki (although, I do like her verse on "Monster"). You can't fuck with someone who helped establish female rap... you just can't.

How exciting?! Mix #11 is here! How amazing has this year been musically? It's like 2007 all over again... The only thing missing is "Blackout".

Every years end I make a mix of my top 20 played songs of the year and I have NO idea how I'm gonna pick 20 for this year.

I know... I know... I suck. It's not that I don't have the time to sit here and upload songs... I just find myself not wanting to go thru the uploading, finding pics, cropping pics, uploading pics, finding the youtubes, editing the URLS, making the HTML code, etc. It's just such a process that I find myself procrastinating on this.

So to save myself a step... I won't be talking much about each song and explaining why I chose it. If you wanna preview it, preview it. Download it, etc. Support the artists and all that good stuff.

Just to clarify... this blog isn't JUST about posting new music. It's the stuff I've been listening to lately... be it an old song that's being replayed on my itunes or a brand new song from somewhere. The reason I'm posting them here is for people to find new music. It's important to hear new things, in my opinion. So why not find something new here.

I wanted to reupload this mixtape to spread the Trina love. This mixtape was released Fall of last year by Trina and Slip n Slide records. It's a mixtape but not one of your traditional mixtapes full of dj shouts. It should be an E.P. It's actually really good. It's totally raw and from the heart. I'm not hatin' on "Amazin'", but I really wish that Trina would've saved some of the songs on this mixtape for "Amazin'".

All of the songs are great. My least favorite would probably be "Bang Bang" or "My Story", but both are still listenable. I just prefer the other tracks. Especially "What U Lookin' At" which is the theme song of my life. Give this mix a download. "My Fans" is a song dedicated to her fans and samples Destiny's Child "Cater 2 U". This mixtape is pretty damn good. So cop it and support the Diamond Princess by following her on twitter.

It's been a while... I know I shouldn't have kept you waiting... but I'm here now. I'm the absolute freakin' worst at updating this blog... I guess it just shows that I have NO idea why I even have this running. I said it wasn't going to be a music/download blog because I don't wanna deal with the legal aspects of it. In a sense, I'm not trying to be a pirate but I'm merrily trying to get people to--in a sense--open their mind to music that they may otherwise turn their head to.

Now that doesn't mean I'm this super-cool dood that listens to UnDeRGroUnD hipster tunes... or that my tastes are stereotypically pulled from American radio; but I just know what I like. I love melodic songs... songs that make me wanna move around and dance. Whether it's club music or trance or a slow melodic song that makes me sway.

L O S T: A Bittersweet Rant

I really wish I could say, "I SPENT SIX LONG YEARS FOLLOWING THIS SHOW..." but I can't. About two summers ago, my roommate and I shot gunned the series starting from season 1 to mid-season 5 where we finally caught up real time. We were probably able to watch the remaining episodes 7 or 8 episodes of that season live. I may not have six years of my life dedicated to the show, but I still feel for the people that did...

I can't really judge the show completely since it has 3.5 hours left to be unseen... but from what I've seen... I don't know exactly how they plan on answering HALF the questions that remain unanswered. It's so sad to see a really good show with good characters come to an end in such an incomplete way. The writers really should've worked out important answers during the course of the show. They knew mid season 3 that the show was done by season 6... so why did they go on to just pack so many questions between this period? Hell look at the most recent episode "Across the Sea". That episode left us with even MORE questions than before and it's the 3rd to the last episode. That is just ridiculous.

I'm not trying to say that the writers did a horrible job... I just wish that they would've thought more of the viewing audience? I don't know... I just hope the last 3.5 hours of LOST really do complete the whole experience for me. It would really bother me to have no answers to really important questions.

With that all rambling bullshit... I guess I can end the blog with the top 5 things I love about LOST.

After 2 unlistenable song releases, M.I.A. is back with "XXXO" off her as yet untitled forthcoming album due late June. This is what I was looking for in new M.I.A. music. I wasn't feeling the space song or "Born Free". "Born Free" sounds like someone recorded an actual abortion while Maya "raps" into headphones plugged into the mic output. However, "XXXO" is just pure commercial goodness. I just hope it's not an anti-anti-pop song like let's release this totally commercial pop song to spite mainstream radio bc i hate mainstream music!!!!! Just buy it on ITUNES, k?

Up Up & Away Mix

I'm not posting an "End of the Weak" mix this week because I really wasn't on my computer to find any new music or obsessions. I did, however, spend a couple hours (at least 5 or 6) compiling, researching, and finding songs to fit into a theme for "flight", "airplanes", and "distance".

The mix is very laid back... 90's inspired but with a modern flair. It's not as pop or dance inspired as my other mixes usually are. I wouldn't use the word "indie" to describe it at all, but it does have a sort of stripped feeling to it with a hint of fun, upbeat sounding songs. It's a cohesive mix that fuses together 90's "rock" with modern hip hop and a hint of j-pop. Just bare with me...

*NEW LEAK* New Britney Demo -- Dramatic

The beginning intro starts off sounding like an interlude on one of Ayumi Hamasaki's newish albums (I'm thinking something like Mirrorcle World or something). It's a nice treat for Britney fans. It's just a demo nothing serious or single worthy. It sure makes me happy tho. It reminds me of when all the demo leaks leaked before "Blackout"!!!

As I'm pretty sure you all know... it's not entirely NEW. Just new to us. It first leaked in '08 except as a "duet" w/ Heidi Montag. Heidi bought the demo and instead of actually rerecording it... she kept Britney's vocals in place and recorded herself to pass it off as a duet. ANYWAY... so here it is: untagged and in pretty damn good quality. Thanks to britneyboards and whoever else was able to pass it on.

DIPLO REMIX

I decided to upload an artist compilation this week instead of a micromix of the stuff I've been listening to in the past week.

I had a lot of ideas... I was originally going for a 'featured Justin Timberlake' mix of songs with other people's songs that feature Justin. Later I scrapped the idea and decided on a Diplo remix mix.

In case you have not heard of him... Diplo is a Philly based DJ, producer, songwriter who has worked with a wide variety of artists from M.I.A. to Spank Rock to Amanda Blank to making remixes for Madonna, Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Hot Chip, Bloc Party, etc. Currently he's promoting and touring for his collabortive music act with producer Switch: Major Lazer. He really doesn't have a specific genre and does things based off of what inspires him lately.

He's a really funny and knowledgeable guy. His twitter is probably one of my favorites to read. Besides from his ruggedly, beautiful, aryan looks, Diplo is a very interesting person to follow. I'm a pretty big fan of his recent electric and dubstep inspired stuff. I'm not a big fan of the baile funke stuff he was doing for a while. I like the current direction he's going musically.

With all that said... I decided to make a mix compilation of some of Diplo's remixes for download. I even fucked around on photoshop to make a quick fake album cover for the mix.

if vegans knew anything... they wouldn't be called vegans.

What's beef.... literally. I can't even look up recipes on the internet without coming across some hipster's lame ass blog with vegan recipes and vegan ingredients. What makes me laugh the absolute most is how badly they are disgusted by meat and/or animal by products but love to use soy cheese and tofu sausages and wear pleather and stuff.

It really amazes me how badly vegans and vegetarians go out of their way to not use anything in their cooking or lifestyles associated with meat but sure as hell love to dress their salads and entrees with meat substitutes and whatnot. Call me crazy but give anyone a tofu burger and an angus burger and 10 times out of 10 they will choose the angus meat. The vegan mind just perplexes me on so many levels.

I'd also like to add that animals do not have rights. Only in America can animals have more rights than the people that inhabit it. When was the last time an animal actually did anything nice for you? and no i don't mean your lame dog fetching your sunday paper.

"Going Vegan" is the new "Hey mom... I'm bisexual~*"... Do something original instead of bastardizing the food industry with "haute vegan cuisine". There is NOTHING that compares to the luscious sweetness of lobster or the buttery delicateness of foie gras... so while vegans are eating their lentils and dusty mung beans; I'll be dining on perfectly pan-seared scallops with a decadent beurre blanc sauce.

Week 3 of the "End of the Weak" mix... I just wanna say that this blog is NOT a music blog dedicated to leaked tracks or albums; I'm merely just posting music I'm listening to recently. I am not dedicating my time and energy into updating this blog constantly with music I find online. I want this blog to reflect who I am personally and music is a big part of my life so it's only natural for some of my updates to revolve around music. These "EotW" mixes are just songs that I have been playing on repeat for the week. Some may be new releases/new leaks and others may be year or two old songs that I've been having on rotation.

Anyone else hear that horrible Jason Derulo song "In My Head"? I heard it a while back and I thought how similar it sounded to Lady GaGa's "Just Dance" and to basically anything RedOne has done.
